"I enjoy being in the Milestones’ Program because there are so many opportunities and services that are offered."
~ Family Services Parent
Crittenton Centers' Family Services Program provides a range of vital education and support programs for parents to help them improve the quality of their lives, strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect. The core programs in our Family Services component are Milestones, Stepping Stones and Parent Education. All families served at Crittenton Centers are strongly encouraged to participate in Family Services Programs.
Crittenton Centers' Milestones Program offers a strengths-based model built on the acknowledgment of family strengths and recognition that parents are a vital component of their child’s life. Interactions with parents enrolled in this program focus on identifying their strengths and using them to develop collaborative relationships to support parents in their important job of raising children.
Services offered include:
Crittenton Centers' Stepping Stones Program serves pregnant and/or parenting teens that are legal wards of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The program covers a 10 county area of Peoria, Tazewell, Fulton, Knox, Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam, Stark and Woodford. Services are frequently provided in the teen’s home in order to help them address and manage the responsibilities and tasks of pregnancy and parenting. The program is also designed to reduce the risk of placement disruptions by providing crisis intervention services to the teen.
Crittenton Centers' Parent Education Program cultivates relationships between program staff and families with the ultimate goal of enhancing parent resilience, building knowledge of parenting and child development, and fostering social connections; all proven strategies in order to prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect.
